Clownes wings clipped by Clipstone

At Clipstone
Clowne lost the toss and were put in the field. A great effort by all and all bar John Hendly bowled. Pick of the action was a brilliant catch by young Calvin Cook that went miles skywards before being taken off Grevesons bowling, and a fine running catch from Greveson at slip to take the ball halfway up the track. All bowled well but mention to Calvin who tirelessly bowled 9 for 36 runs unrewarded. Young Matthew cook bowled good line and length and was not phased by the game and took a splendid 5-35-3 Greveson and Tony Cook also added a couple a piece with Walker and B Cook taking one each. Pick of the batting was A Woodward with a well deserved 69and G Briggs 33. Well batted by all the Clipstone boys.
230 for 9
Clowne knew batting would be a concern. Walker and Hendly opened with walker playing strokes but not scoring. The Clowne boys did not really trouble the scorers but the odd nice stroke from Greveson and T Cook. A vallient effort but all out for 30
30 all out .
