Clowne Town CC Fantasy Cricket Review 2003!

It was a successful season for the first ever Clowne Town Cricket Club Fantasy Cricket Competition with 27 teams entering. All of the teams were picked from players within the club and points were scored via performances on the field. To have a look how the points were calculated read the rules. Each player had a price based on their performance in the 2002 season and the team manager had to pick a team of 11, including 5 batsmen 4 bowlers and 2 all rounders, with a budget of £45 million.

The fantasy cricket game added a little extra spark to the games on saturdays knowing that your own performance could influence the results of the fantasy cricket.

Paul Thompsons team Tomo's Tornados started the season well and he won the team on the month for both May and June and will be awarded £5 for each win. He was helped by no small amount by Dave Swannack and Joseph Kinsey who both took a hatrick during the first 2 months of the season therefore claiming big points for their fantasy cricket sides.

After a good start though Paul was being chased down by Da Cambridge Crew managed by Dale Steers, whos team went through the whole season unchanged. However it was the team of Jamie Fellows You Only Sing When Your Fishing who scored the most points in the final 2 months of the season and he will also collect £5 for each month, however despite 2 good months he could only finish 19th in the overall standings.

Going in to the final 2 weeks of the season it was very close at the top with 3 teams in real contention of taking the title. However Da Cambridge Crew had the strength to overcome both Tomo's Tornados and My Lights Dont Work to take the title of Clowne Town Fantasy Cricket Winners 2003.
