Kinkey the Clowne Puts Selston in a Spin.

At Selston
For the second game in a row Clowne won the toss and elected to put the opposition into bat on a soft damp wicket.
The Selston innings started well with Spray (26) and Egan (20) making easy work of the Clowne opening attack of Swannack (0-19) and Fellows (0-16) who both bowled a little to short on the soft wicket.
However a change in the bowling brought Kinsey and Pollard into the Clowne attack. Kinsey got off to a perfect start with a typical leg spinners wicket a long hop straight to point and Spray was gone. With the opening partnership broke Pollard claimed 2 more quick wickets with Egan and Dawes (16) caught in his trap.
All Down Hill for Selston
Both Kinsey and Pollard relished the opportunity to bowl against fresh batsmen. And it was not long before Kinsey had Spray (4) caught in the deep. Pollard then swung his way to a further 2 wickets leaving him with figures of 4-24.
Hatrick!
With Kinsey bowling well Clowne were looking to restrict Selston for a low score, however Kinsey wanted it over quicker than that. He had Cockayne (4) bowled with the quicker top spinner, then came Trower who was deceived by the perfect leg break and was stumped by Holmes in the final ball of his 7th over.
A Nightmare for all of the boys who had to listen to Kinsey telling everybody that he was going to get 5 wickets (and his club cap) before Pollard between each ball of the next Pollard over.
However with 5 wickets and a hatrick at stake Kinsey yet again delivered the goods with a superb leg spinners delivery ripping away from the right handed Reeves who over balanced and was stumped by Holmes. Kinsey had done it but will we ever hear the end of it, I doubt it. He then finished the Selston innings off in his next over leaving him with figures of 6-25.
Selston Town 85-10
With Kinsey making a note of his figures and calling his mum and bragging to everybody all at the same time Clowne got their reply off to a steady start with Smalley (15) and Holmes (32). However 4 wickets were lost over the course of the innings and it was left to Matthew Osbourne (14*) and Paul Linacre (13*) to finish the match off.
