Clowne won the toss and asked Belper to bat on a wet green wicket. The Belper innings started with the early loss of Jones (4), with Fellows (2-38) making the most of his call up from the 2nd team by showing all what a good bowler he has become.

Tricky Conditions

However despite the good start for Clowne and the tricky batting conditions Bakel (80) and Brookes (32) put on 60 runs for the second wicket. Bakel looked in fine form throughout his innings and played the supporting roll to the other batsmen during his innings. Wilson (14) and Pascual all contributed to a good batting display by Belper.

Belper Meadows 212-5
Time Match

Due to a number of rain breaks during the Belper Meadows innings the match turned in to a time match. However this was of no significance as the heavens opened. The game finished with Clowne on 15-1 with Holmes (6*) and White (5*) having lost Smalley (0) to one of the softest shots in the history of the club.
