HYTHE UNDER 15's
NEW FOREST LEAGUE
2nd July Vs PYLEWELL PARK
Under 15's Go Close Again.
The Under 15's put in a determined performance before going down by 4 wickets at Pylewell Park.
Toss Won by Hythe
Tom Porter was captain for the day and elected to bat first after winning the toss.
Hythe put in a much more determined batting performance despite losing Matt Stark 5 and Tom Porter 8 early.
Luke Blackwell hit a Hythe best 26 not out and carried his bat throughout the innings hittng 3 fours in the process.
He was well supported by Ben Smith who hit 1x6, 2x4 in a knock of 22. Lee Powell 18 also looked in good nick before being run out ( not for the first time this season ).
Hythe finished on 111 for 5 their best batting performance of the season thanks largely to Blackwell.
With a decent total to defend Hythe wanted a good start from their bowlers and Tom Porter did just that. His 4 overs only went for 15 runs. But Lee Powell struggled to find the right length and his 4 overs went for 41.
Blackwell bowled a tidy spell of 4 overs - getting 2-24 to round off a good day for him.
But Pylewell were well in control and got home in the 16th over for the loss of 6 wickets.
