HYTHE 2nd XI Vs MUDEFORD III

SECOND XI IN A HURRY

Hythe made it four wins on the bounce on Saturday with a quick 6 wicket win against nine man Mudeford.

Toss Won by : Mudeford

Mudeford elected to bat first despite only having nine men.

Despite the very hot weather Richie Bunce was again very accurate during his spell of 10 overs which only went for 20 runs and he took 1 wicket.

Wayne Effeny came on after just 5 overs and quickly got amongst the wickets taking 3-29 off 8 overs.

Chalky White snapped up another 2 wickets off his 8 overs which went for 31 runs and Steve Miller picked up the other wicket.

The fielders again supported the bowlers very well with Pete Stevens 2, Effeny and White taking cathches whilst there was also 2 stumpings for Gary Howe and a Run Out from Sean Tongs.

Mudeford were all out for 121 in the 35th over.

Hythe wasted no time chasing the runs. Skipper Mike Bowman opened the batting with the 'guru' Sean Tongs in the absence of Matt Howe. Bowman made 29 before being bowled by G.Wilkinson whilst the same bowler also remover Tongs for 24.

Wayne Effeny batted at no3 and looked in good touch against a Mudeford side who were struggling to field the gaps with only 9 fielders.

Hythe lost Bell 1 and Gary Howe 0 cheaply but Effeny carried his bat for 39* whilst Richie Bunce hit 19 from 13 balls to take Hythe to a 6 wicket victory in the 24th over.
