HYTHE & DIBDEN COLTS CRICKET

COLTS REVIEW - WEEK 9 - 29th JUNE.

UNDER 17's Vs MUDEFORD

The Under 17's made it two wins on the bounce with an excellent all round display to beat Mudeford by 12 runs.

Without Tom Porter and Richard Last Hythe's heros were Russell Moore 50* with the bat and Pete Stevens 4-11 with the ball a personnel best.

Toss Won by : Hythe

Hythe were hoping to do the double over Mudeford after beating them earlier in the season at Hythe. With this in mind Russell Moore won the toss and elected to bat first.

Moore himself opened with James Page and the pair put on an opening partnership of 46 off the firt 10 overs before Page was run out for 16. Two run outs in two days for James - he wont leave the crease next time.

Matt Howe then joined Moore and with the platform set by the openers Howe was able to play his shots and step on the acceleration.

Russell Moore retired for a very good 50* and Matt Howe finished on 22*. Supported by Lee Powell 6 and Ben Smith 5* Hythe finished on 114 for 2 off their 18 overs.

In the field once again the under 17's excelled holding onto their catches ( Talbot, Smith, and Moore )plus some fine work behind the stumps by Matt Howe bringing two stumpings.

Pete Stevens opened the bowling and took a Hythe best 4-11 off 4 overs whilst Lee Powells 4 overs only cost 19 runs for 1 wicket. James Carse once again chipped in with 2 wickets and Moore claimed the other as Hythe reduced Mudeford to 102 for 8 and gained a 12 run victory for their third win of the season.
