Under 13's Vs LYMINGTON 'A'
When you face Lymington 'A' you come up against the best of the local boarding school kids who play three times a week at school.
Hence we knew we were in for a hiding this evening and Lymington didn't disappoint.
Lymington scored 152 for 1 off their 18 overs and unfortunately Hythe were shot out for just 19 in reply.
Toss Won by : Hythe
Captain for the day John Jo Stovell won the toss and sensibly put Lymington into bat.
The Hythe bowlers were soon up against it as the Lymington openers hit 50 off the first 6 overs. Hythe did then make the only breakthrough when King bowled Lynsey-Woods for 28.
Harry Smith bowled tidely 0-21 off 4 but the rest of the Hythe bowlers struggled as Gossage 31* and Kinsella 30* both retired, and Elliott21* and Williams 23* both finished not out as Lymington ended on 152 for 1 off their 18 overs.
Hythe were never going to be able to chase those runs but it was no surprise when ( win at all costs ) Lymington opened the bowling with Lynsey Woods. He was far to good for the Hythe batsman and it was no surprise that after 3 overs Hythe were 3 for 3.
Four overs later and Hythe were 14 for 7 with Lynsey Wood taking 5 of the wickets. A very good bowler but what about all those guys who didn't get a bat couldn't they have a bowl.
Tom Peters finished Hythe's highest scorer with 3. Todd Powell hit the best shot of the innings with all the Lymington fielders close in he smashed it over the top for 2.
Huxley and Caws went for 0's and Hythe were all out for 19 in just 9.5 overs.
