HYTHE 2nd XI Vs WEST MOORS
Toss : Won by Hythe
A 186 run partnership by Sean Tongs 86 and Matt Howe 56 set up Hythe Second XI for their third successive win in a row as they beat West Moors by 30.
Hythe skipper Mike Bowman won the toss and elected to bat on a very hot afternoon.
For the second time this year, Sean Tongs 86 and Matt Howe 56 shared in a century opening stand. The first Hythe wicket Matt Howe fell in the 29th over with the score on 138.
A big score was brewing and Bowman joined Tongs in the run spree before Tongs was out for a very good 86. Bowman was next to go for 25 but Ewan Bell looked in very good nick and made 33. Gary Howe and Richie Bunce both got into double figures before getting out trying to build a big score. Hythe finished on 236 for 6 and gained full batting points.
In reply West Moors kept up the run rate for long periods of their innings but just lost wickets at crucial times. Richie Bunce bowled another accurate spell but the key feature was three run outs which came from good accurate throws from Sean Tongs 2, and Chalky White. The catching improves on last week and though some were spilled Sean Tongs rounded off another fine display with 2 catches, Tim Bath and Matt Howe one each.
West Moors finished their innings on 206 for 9 giving Hythe a 30 run win.
