COLTS REVIEW - WEEK 6.

UNDER 13's & 17's

With the Under 13's match postponed because of school trips it was left to the Under 17's to provide the Thursday Evening news.

Playing against a very strong Redlynch & Hale side a nine man Hythe team put up a very determined performance before going down by 35 Runs.

Under 17's Vs REDLYNCH & HALE

Toss Won by : Redlynch & Hale

Russell Moore lost the toss and Redlynch elected to bat first against a nine man Hythe side.

Hythe fielded very well but were always going to have gaps in the field with only seven fielders plus the wicket keeper and bowler.

The Redlynch batsman which included County Colts, found the gaps with ease and powered ther way to 128 for 5 off their 18 overs. James Carse finished with 2 wickets and Tom Porter 1-12 off 4 and Richard Last 0-24 off 4 bowled well.

In reply Hythe lost both openers early, Russell Moore and Tom Porter for 0 but then Matt Howe firstly with James Page 9 and then Richard Last 20 settled down and broguht some credability to the score.

Matt Howe was very impressive and by the end was spraying the ball all over the park. He finished on 45* taking Hythe to 93 for 4 off their 18 overs.

Redlynch won by 35 runs but who nows what would have happened had Hythe not been reduced to nine so late on. Those gaps in the field certainly wouldn't have been there.
