COLTS REVIEW - WEEK 5.
UNDER 13's & 17's
No joy for out Thursday Evening Colts Sides as both suffered defeats in their latest games.
Hythe Under 13's sufferd a 10 wicket defeat at the hands of B.A.T Sports whilst the Under 17's fell short by just 7 runs in their match at Langley Manor. Matt Howe was left undefeated on 33 out of a score of 68 for 4.
Under 17's Vs LANGLEY MANOR
Toss Won by : Hythe
This game was expected to be tight against two evenly matched sides and the match lived up to its predicitions.
Russell Moore won the toss and elected to field. It proved to be a good decision as Hythe put in an excellent fielding performance to restrict their hosts to 75 all out.
The pick of the bowlers was Richard Last who recordrd 5 for 9, whilst there was also some great cathces to back up the bowling -the skipper Russell Moore leading the way with 2 whilst James Carse, Adam Talbot and Last also picked up a catch each. Tom Porter also chipped in with a run out .
In reply Hythe batted solidly after losing Tom Porter for his third duck of the week. Hard luck on you lot who had Tom in your fantasy team but its only a blip.
Russell Moore 15 and Matt Howe 33* then put together a good partnership against some accurate bowling but as they tried to increase the pace near the end wickets began to tumble and Hythe fell just 7 runs short.

Under 13's Vs B.A.T SPORTS
Toss Won by B.A.T Sports
Despite the Under 13's still looking for their first league win of the season, Manager Sally Harding is not too down beat. Sally says ' our batting is our biggest problem and altough we bat out our overs we just need to be more positive'.
B.A.T surprisingly won the toss and elected to field. ( I think the coach wanted to get home to watch big brother ).
Despited losing Stovell for a duck, skipper Sam Mead 12 and Harry Smith 9 then put on a useful partnership. Matt Young 9 also put in an encouraging performance and Hythe finished on 45 for 3 off their 18 overs which was always not going to be enough against their strong opponents.
B.A.T went too it from the off and despite having a player dropped in the first over reached their target in just 7 overs.
