COLTS REVIEW - WEEK 2.
UNDER 13's & 17's
On a warm Thursday Evening Gary Howe's Under 17's recorded
their first win of the season with an impressive all round display
against Mudeford.
The Under 13's travelled across the forest to play against a very strong
Lymington 'A' side and were second best suffering a 7 wicket defeat.
Under 17's Vs MUDEFORD
Toss Won by : Hythe
Matt Howe won the toss and elected to bat. His openers didn't disappoint
with Russell Moore 29 and the impressive Tom Porter 47 sharing in a
strong opening partnership of 81. Howe 16* Richard Last 11 and Lee Powell 11*
came in and kept the run rate going allowing Hythe to finish on 130 for 3 off
their alloted 18 overs.
In reply Mudeford were soon in trouble as Hythe bowled and fielded impressively.
Russell Moore 3-14, Lee Powell 2-4 and Ben Smith 3-14 took the wickets but
catches help win matches and there was some good ones as Last 2, Moore 1 and
Pete Stevens all held onto their catches to support the bowlers and reduce
Mudeford to 80 all out and give Hythe a comfortable 50 run win.

Under 13's Vs MILFORD ON SEA
Toss Won by : Hythe
It was always going to be a difficult trip for the Under 13's
as they made the trip over the forest to face Lymington 'A'.
Sam Mead won the toss and made the decision to bat first.
Despite not losing many wickets Hythe managed only 12 runs
off the bat in their total of 45 for 3 off 18 overs. ( 32 extras )
Sam Mead top scored with 7.
When Lymington replied Tom Huxley hit back with two
early wickets. Tom Richards also picked up a wicket but
Lymington got home with 9 overs to spare.
