RAIN HITS START TO SEASON
Saturday 6th May
Both our league sides were in good positions before heavy the rain took its toll on procedures during Saturdays Matches
HYTHE 1ST XI Vs LANGLEY MANOR
Toss : Won by Langley Manor
Skipper Simon Dixon 59 and Kev James 35 batted well in difficult conditions to enable Hythe to finish their innings on 193 for 9.
During the latter stages of the innings the drizzle got heavier and during the stoppage for tea the opposition obviously decided they didn't fancy facing our bowling attack and abandoned the game.

Sunday 7th May Vs MERLIN
Toss Won by : Hythe
By now we know what to expect from our ageing Merlin opponents - but full credit to them for turing out each week and enjoying their cricket.
The Hythe players had the opportunity to gain some much needed practise in the middle and all took their chances.
Richie Froggett was out one short of a welcome fifty and all credit to young Tom Porter who made 31. Mike Bowman in his first knock of the summer made a useful 65* and at last some runs from our Nardus who will be known as a all rounder by the end of the season.
Buncey declared on 204 for 3 but the visitors wern't interested in the chase once they lost a few wickets.
The colts bowled well especially Richard Last 6-0-18-1 and Russell Moore who picked up 3 wickets.
But the veterans held on and finished on 131 for 8 for a draw and in closing I must apologise to the local residents for the fowl language during the later parts of the match. Good job Tongsy wasn't brought on earlier to bowl we could still be their now trying to finish.
