Highfield won the toss and elected to bat first only to regret the decision when they saw the new ball. Matt Young's first two balls showed the swing only to go too far for two wides - 9 off the first over and in the second a Ozzie Shaikh wicket - bowling M.Khan for 1. Mike Bowman's 3rd over went for 11 - Highfield 22-1 after 3. That brought Tom Richards into the attack - an excellent over saw just 2 off. The fifth over saw Matt Howe go for 7 including the first boundary to Newell.

11 came off Matt Young's 6th over as Highfield tried to up the pace. Shaikh returned for a good 7th over - 2 off the bat plus 3 leg byes. Bowman then had F.Batt caught by Matt Howe for 6 - Highfield 47 for 2 off 7.1 overs. The rest of the over went for just 5 inc a H.Singh boundary. Dave Guymer & Matt Howe both had tremendous attempts for run outs turned down then umpire Saunders with a sleepy eye missed a Guymer stumping of Newell. The batsman thought he was short with his bat in the air but the umpire said No. 6 then came from Matt Howe's 9th over. Tom Richards produced another good over - just 6 coming from the 10th. Howe's 11th over then went for 2 and 4 byes. Ozzie Shaikh's final over was eventfuol - A 3 & 4 off the first two balls saw Newell retired 27*. Nori was then bowled first ball by Shaikh. A J.Singh 2 was then followed with him being run out by Matt Young on the final ball. Highfield 79 for 4 at the close.

Well done to the Hythe bowling and fiedling excellent stuff. Shaikh 2-13 the pick but Richi 0-7 off 2 overs was impressive.

Hythe opened with Matt Young & Dave Guymer. 5 came off the first over bowled by M.Khan. Nori struggled with the second - a Guymer 4 was added too by 2 wides and a no ball - 14 off. Khan returned for a 12 run 3rd over. H.Singh came into the attack and did better with the 4th over - Just a wide and 2 singles coming from it. Hythe 39 for 0 after 4. Nori's 5th over was the best over of the innings - 3 singles coming from it. Singh's 6th over went for 11 incuding a Guymer 6. Hythe in the driving seat 53-0 after 6.

M.Khan returned but probably wished he hadn't - 15 coming from his 7th over - Nori's 11th over then went for 11 incuding another Guymer 6. Young hit the winning single with the first ball of the 9th over - Hythe winning by 6 wkts with 23 balls remaining. Dave Guymer finishing 22* and Matt Young 18*
