Back to full strength the colonal elected to bat first. The Lions looked up for it in the field and the cheers got louder in the 2nd over as Tongs was caught off Ali Jabber for a duck. 23 came off the first 2 overs but when it seemes Hythe were getting on top - Gilbert was bowled by Sanjeev for 4.That brought Zac Millar into join Kev James - Millar's first two scoring shots a four and a six.
By the 6th over Hythe had moved onto 76 for 2 - shortly afterwards Millar retired on 27*. The incoming Saunders didn't stay long bowled by Sunny for 4 - Hythe 92 for 3 off 8. Kev McCarthy joined James for the final 4 overs adding another 60 runs thanks mostly to the wides column (61 in total) James hit a six in the 11th over and finished on 23* , McCarthy 10* - Hythe 151 for 3
Hythe good off to a good start with the ball - first over Kev James having Sunny very well caught by Millar for 0. 11 came off the first over - that was followed by a good Millar over just 6 coming from it. 3rd over brought super Kev into the attack - very first ball he bowled Singh for 1. Two balls later he had another when Chandan was stumped by Gilbert for 11. Lions 22 for 3 after 3.
Jabbar Ali in at 5 decided 'the wack' was the best approach hitting Kev James 5th over for a 6 & 4. Millar was expensive in the 6th but finished it off by caught & bowling Ali for 14. 25 points for Hythe but well done to the Lions for their keeness. A group of friends entering a team in a league full of league cricketers - good on them.
