| Hythe 3's vs Michelmersh & Tims 2's |
| M&T's Mac Attacked As 3's Earn First Win |
Kev McCarthy took 5 for 2 in 3 overs to earn Hythe a 6 wicket win over a young Michelmersh & Timsbury side.
Jack KO won the toss and elected to field first after our poor batting display last time out.
Alex Nicholas started proceedings well with the ball - just 3 coming off the first over. Three runs and a wide came from Tom Nicholas second over - M&T 10 for 0 after 2. Keeping the pressure on Alex returned for the third - only a wide four spoiling a good over.
Kev McCarthy bowled an action packed 4th over - first ball Tom Nicholas reacted well to the ball off the wall to run out P.Lowman for 2. Then 2 wickets in two balls as Super Keb bowled skipper J.Lowman & H.Arthur both off their legs for 0. M&T 16 for 3 after 4. Things did improve for M&T as 10 came off Sam Meads 5th over including a six from opener Turrell.
McCarthy's second over resulted in a wicket maiden after he had Hill caught by Alex Nicholas for 0. Jack Knight-Owen's 7th over went for 5 but two more wickets in the 8th over from McCarthy finished things off. First he bowled Turrell for 16 then bowled Wheeler for 0. M&T's all out for 33 in just 8 overs.
Gareth & Sam Mead opened the innings for Hythe. After a 2 run first over Gareth hit the first boundary of the innings with a crisp drive for 4. Sam realizing the game was almost won elected to give the M&T's fielders some catching practice. Dropped twice in the second over he went onto be dropped four times in total. J.Lowman didn't give up though - his two overs went for just 4 runs. P.Lowman's one over went for 8 and T.Hill 9 as Gareth picked off the singles with ease (save's running). First ball of the 7th over - Hythe reached their target Sam Mead hitting his first boundary with a typical Meado shot..
Hythe win by 6 wicklets - Gareth Mead finishing 14 not out, Sam Mead 11 not out. Harder game next time out as Hythe play O.T's & Romsey 2's in two weeks time.
