The Forest Clash of Hythe vs Sway ended in a 2 wicket victory for Sway thanks to the indoor know how of Atapattu & Marshall

Matt Howe won the toss and elected to bat first. Tom Arnold and Harry Smith opened the innings and Arnold showed Sway skipper Dan Stevenson early great respect - only 1 coming off the first over. Even the '' Sway's scorer Andy Straw said 'I can't believe he's only gone for 1 run'. Second over Hythe were in more trouble as Atapattu proved too good for Harry Smith - caught for just 2. Just 4 runs off 2 overs even a total of a ton looked a long way off.

But at the start of the third over things started to look up as Tom took a liking to the back wall - the first 3 balls went for 4-6-6- off Lewis that was followed up by two more boundaries in the next over and two well run threes. Hythe 37 for 2 off 4. Matt Howe was getting into the game hitting Lewis for a six in the 5th. With Arnold now retired it brought Matt Young to the crease. .

Young hit his first six before being put down by Marshall which brought a smug look from my scoring partner - . Young repaid by hitting another 2 sixes before retiring at 91 in the 8th Over. Matt Howe then joined him - retired at 25*. With Atapattu & Marshall back on for the final 3 overs - Hythe got bogged down and only another 22 came off the 3 overs. Shaik made 9 before being bowled by Atapattu - Mike Bowman finished 4* & Tom Arnold 31*. Give credit to the Sway bowling just 3 runs in no balls and another 3 runs in wides. Atapattu 2-17 off 3 the pick of the Sway bowling.

Hythe needed a good start and they got it when Matt Young bowled Lewis for 0. That brought Sway's star man to the crease and Atapattu.

Symons took the score to 20 off 2. Mike Bowman's first over since August went for 12 in wides but he did get the wicket of Symons for 7. 'Shocking shot said Straw''. Next over Sway in more bother when Ossie Shaikh bowled Stevenson for for a duck - Sway 39 for 3 and the Green Caps in with a chance if they could just remove the next partnership of Atapattu / Marshall.

Howe's first over went for 16 followed by 19 off Young as the Sway old timers showed their experience between the wicket. At the end of the 8th over Sway had moved onto 96. Hythe thought they had the wicket of Marshall but the ball hit Arnold's pad before removing the bails. ' Could have done with the replay' Atapattu then retired but soon had to return as Harry Smith returned to have Pete Bennett caught behind by Arnold for 1..

Shaikh bowled the 10th over of which 10 came off to take the score to 110 for 4 and a Atapattu 4 and a Smith wide ended the game in the 11th - Sway winning by 2 wkts - Atapattu 31* - Marshall 27*. Hythe won't be happy with their contribution - 47 in wides. Sway go top of the group.
