Sunday 26th July
| Revenge For Under 11's In Local Derby |
Beaten earlier in the season Hythe Under 11's gained revenge on Sunday with a 6 run win over rivals Fawley @ Jones Lane. It was a good way to finish the Under 11 season - Played 7 - Won 3 Lost 4 finishing in 5th place.
Sam Fenton won the toss and asked Fawley to bat first. Hythe got off to a good start with a Sam Fenton early wicket and some tight bowling reduced the oilers to 213 for 2 at the half way mark - Daniel Duell getting the wicket..
Smith and Holloway picked up wickets in the third pairing as the Green Caps pegged back Fawley to 215 for 4. Fawley saved their best pairing til last and by the close had progressed to 230 for 4. For Hythe Sam Fenton 1-5 off 3 overs stands out.
Hythe's reply started cautiously as Tom Ferrier (+1) & Will Ladbury (+4) took the score to 209 for 0. Zac Crocker (-5) + John Holloway (0) despite losing a wicket added 13 to take Hythe to 222 for 1 at the half way stage. Fraser Smith (+12) & Kieran Taylor (+2) added 19 for the third pair taking Hythe's score above Fawley. All Sam Fenton & Daniell Duell had to do was protect their wickets. Duell was out once (-4) but Fenton (+3) kept his intact to win thegame for Hythe - Hythe 246 for 4. Win by 16 runs.
