5th July @ Bashley Park

After last weeks worst colts result on record - Hythe Under 13's bounced back with a decent performance against 4th place Bashley 'A' despite going down by 24 runs.

With the main pitch at Bashley under water - Woodsys boys took to the artificial which is well known for plenty of bounce which should have suited young Carley, Knight-Owen 7 Fay. Hythe fielded first and got the perfect start when Tom Ladbury had Harris caught by Luke for 0. Turner & Titcombe put on a useful Bashley partnership before Jacob Mould tun out Titcombe for 13. Robers was stumped by ---- off Fay for a duck and and Turner was finally out caught by 'bucket hands' Mould for 20 off Pieter Lever.

Taylor and Clark (13*) made useful contributions - Harry Swainston had Taylor hit his own wicket for 16 - Knight-Owen had Lewis caught by Carley for 11 as Bashley tried to up the face late on. H.Fay run out Holly for 0 as Bashley finished 103-7. Hythe's most economical bowler surprisingly only bowled the 2 overs - Pieter Lever 1-4

Needing 5.5 an over for an upset - Hythe's reply started slowly but Jacob Mould & Lewie Fay upped the pace to have 23-0 on the board after 6. Mould went for 11 and the next 3 overs wer bad for Hythe as they only produced 5 runs. With 3 overs remaining Hythe only had 48 on the board with Fay 21 and Molyneux 0 both back in the hutch.

55 off 3 was always going to be a tough order - D.Taylor made 16 and H.Fay 13* but Hythe only reached 79-5 at the close - but thats a big improvement on the O.T 's game and Woodsy was pleased.
