Blew It !!! The only thing you need to know about Hythe 3's trip to Pylewell Park on Saturday.

Hythe had the homeside struggling at 31 for 4 but they recovered to 154 all out - Luke Walsh taking 5 for 32. Dan Pates for the second week runing made 92 in reply - this one inc 6x4's & 4x6's but no one stayed with him. Pates eventually caught on the boundary with 16 needed in 2 overs.

Hux won the toss and inserted Pylewell into bat on a drying wicket. Only concern was the hurricane blowing across the ground. Wales own Luke 'Louis' Walsh opened the bowling - reminding everyone he was on a hat-trick ball (from 10 months ago) first up. Sadly Louis bowled it down leg side to spoil the occasion. He did however get Hythe off to a good start when he had D.Woolgar bowled for 0 4th ball. 3 overs later and Kev McCarthy pounded into the win and had Todd well caught by Phil Long for 4. Next over Louis was in the action again - bowling the dangerous Mallush for 4. - Pylewell 8 for 3.

At 13 overs PP had moved onto 31 for 3 beofre McCarthy trapped O.Brien for 7. PP battled back as J.Kennedy & skipper C.Cooper added 50 for the 5th wicket in 17 overs. Pete Stevens finally dismissed Kennedy for a very good 28 (caught by Huxley) Walsh retunred to grab 3 late wickets (all bowled) and Sam Page had Haynes stumped by Gilbert for the final wicket. Cooper remained on 76* inc 5x4's & 3x6's. Pylewell 154 for 9 at the close.

After one of the finest teas you'll get on a Saturday - Hythe's opening pair of Shrive & Pates got the Green Caps off to a fine start 39-0 in 12 overs. But just as they did at Brockenhurst the other week they collapsed big time. Shrive never look comfortable in the hurricane and with the ball staying low - he was out for 7 Gilbert was bowled behing his legs for 2 and Phil Long was caught second ball. Pates meanwhile was keeping Hythe in contention and brought up another fifty.

Pylewell turned to spin at both ends and Hythe destructed with the next 6 batsman all making single figures. Pates was still there but on 92 and Hythe needing 16 off 2 overs he hit a ball into the deep and somehow a Pylewell fielder hung on - On the final ball of the penultimate over and still needing 14 McCarthy run out Louis Walsh and Hythe had lost. Good game but very poor result for Hythe.
