| Suttoners Too Strong For 3's |
Hythe 3's always knew this game would be one of their toughest this season - and so it proved. The Bournemouth based side have switched their 1st team out of the Dorset Premier to climb the Hampshire pyramid so should walk through this division and possibly South West 2.
On a damp underprepared wicket - the toss was important and Suttoners called right and inserted the Green Caps. Dan Pates opened with Tom Huxley and after running the first single felt his dodgy calf which took him off the field last week.
Things got worse when Huxley fell in the second over. By 13 overs Hythe had six batsman back in the hutch. Pete Stevens 15 and Ian Prentice 12 did spare Hythe's blushes with a partnership of 19. Sam Page 12 also got into double figures but by the 28th over Hythe were all out for just 73.
The Suttoners batsman come out with intent to get the game over with as quickly as possible. Hythe got a breakthrough in the 5th over when Sam Page bowled N.Arnold for 8. After 10 Suttoners had moved onto 48 for 2 when Ian Prentice bolwed A.Brown for 28. Prentice then had a LBW decision turned down (to his annoyance) but immeadiately hit back having A.Clifford caught behind by Archie Gilbert for 2. Chiverton then caught a skier off Prentice to get rid of Gritt for 0 but Davies 21* & J.Arnold 8* saw Suttoners home with ease.
Hythe 3's now 0-3 at Thornberry this season but unbeaten away.
