| BRANSGORE vs HYTHE UNDER 17's |
24th May @ Jones Lane
| SECOND CONSECUTIVE TIE FOR UNDER 17's |
For the 2nd week running Hythe Under 17's come away with a tied game this time at Bransgore.
This time though it was Hythe who threw away a win as Sway did the week before. Hythe needed 2 runs off the final 4 balls to win.
Bransgore batted first and put a decent 121-8 on the board. Zac Millar turned bowler this week - took 3-18 off 4 overs.
Hythe opened with Martin Duell and Jack Knight-Owen. The pair added 42 for the 1st wicket then two more wickets followed quickly as Duell 17, Knight-Owen 14 & Blandford 6 all departed. Hythe 55 for 3 just after the half way mark. Nathan Froggett on his return made a valuable 12 as did Zac Millar 11. Hythe 106-5 with 3 overs to go (16 needed) Jones was bowled for 11 with six needed and you would bet your house on Sam Long and Kieran Chalmers to get the Green Caps over the finishing line. But Long was bowled for 3 on the final ball and the game was tied. Chalmers ended 14*
