Sunday 27th May
| Frail Batting Lets The Green Caps Down |

| Rob SAUNDERS 27 |
Hythe's recent good winning run on a Sunday came to an abrupt end when they were beaten by Gosport Borough this weekend. Hythe batted first and were shot out for just 115. In reply Gosport got home with 7 overs and 4 wickets in the bag.
On a hot day Hythe won the toss and the Colonal had non hesitation in batting first. Hythe got off to a steady start though Sean Tongs and Shaun Anderson 17-0 off 5. But in the 6th Tongs was bowled for 16. At 10 overs Hythe had reached 30 for 1 with Wilden hitting a couple of boundaries. Anderson looking to cememnt a big score was then out for 17 - bowled by Godbold. Wilden soon followed bowled for 12. Hythe 54 for 3 off 17.
Huxley and Carley came and went without troubling the scorers with the Colonal at the other end emulating Geoffrey Boycott. Matt Howe batting at 7 did give the crowd something to watch scoring a quick fire 20 inc 3x4's. But then the tail folded and Saunders was last man out for a determined 27. Hythe a disappointing 155 all out.
With few runs to play with the first team bowling attack was brought straight into play but Gosport started well 33 off 10 before Anderson had Stares judged LBW for 17. Larner was then caught by Howe off Jack Knight-Owen for 21 and just before drinks Hythe got another breakthrough - A.Ganni bowled by McCarthy for 30. Two runs later JKO claimed his second wicket when McCarthy caught Taylor for 8 - 74 for 4 off 22.
JKO then had Godbold LBW for 4 but and unbeaten partnership of 17 between R.Partington & B.Eridge saw Gosport homw with 7 overs remaining.
Well done to the Walley's for making it a pleasurable game as always and to the Hythe lads for making it 3 wins in 3 even without several key Sunday lads..
