NEW FOREST UNDER 15 LEAGUE (SOUTH)
| HYTHE U15's vs MILFORD ON SEA |
Sunday 20th May
| First Win For Under 15's |
Sam Kelly found form with the bat to earn Hythe Under 15's a first win in the league. Kelly 28 shared in a 32 - 5th wicket partnership with Harrison Smith as Hythe scored 74 for 4 off their 18 overs. Hythe then bowled out Milford for 47 with Ollie Pike & Jordan Blandford taking 3 wickets a piece.
Hythe opened the batting with their two stroke makers Sam Long & Elliott Carley but with only 5 balls gone - Carley was walking back to the pavillion - run out for 3. Two overs later skipper Alex Nicholas was bowled by Elliott and Hythe were 8 for 2. Things got worse when Sam Long was bowled by Haining for 3. Hythe 15 for 3 off 6.
Sam Kelly and Jordan Blandford added 10 before Blandford was caught for 3. That brought Harrison Smith to the crease and he and Kelly added a valuable 32 in just 5 overs to take Hythe to 57. But they both fell in the space of three balls. Kelly caught for 28 inc 2x4's and Smith run out for 10. Molyneux was next to go Bowled for 4 and then Jacob Mould was caught for 7. Hythe finishing on 74 for 8 - surely not enough on a decent batting track.
Three runs came off Alex Nicholas first over but with Sam Longs first ball - he bowled Haining for 3. Next over another wicket for skipper Nicholas - Lecaze bowled for 5. and then Carley run out Haines for 1. - MOS 12 for 3.
.Josh Elliott was then bowled by Nicholas for 1 but a mini revival came from Chris Coombes and Eliott Cross who added 18 for the 5th wicket. In the 10th over two wickets in two balls for Jordan Blandford put Hythe back in control. Ollie Pike then came on to spin out the tail - taking 3 wickets in 10 balls to leave Milford 47 all out. Good win for Huxley's lads and 16 valuable points.
