| NEW MILTON vs HYTHE UNDER 13's |
17th May @ Fernhills
| Under 13's Lose First Fixture of The Season. |
On what was a bitterly cold evening skipper Ladbury won the toss and chose to field first on what looked like helpful conditions for bowlers. Ladbury and Carley opened the bowling and managed to keep the New Milton batsman quite with them getting 19 off the first 4 overs. The first wicket of the season for the under 13s went to Fay who had Nurse caught by mould for 13. The only other wicket to fall was to Swainston, who was unlucky not to have a couple more, Norton caught by Knight-Owen for 16. With Hussey retiring not out on 33 it proved a tough day at the office for the under 13 bowlers. New Milton 114-2
Hythe opened the batting with Knight-Owen and Mould in what was tough batting conditions. Wickets began to tumble with Knight-Owen first to go. Notable performances with the bat were Carley with 13, Lever on an unbeaten 9 and taylor who stuck around for a gritty 8.
Thanks to Phil Swainston for umpiring, Dave Owens and Steve Taylor for scoring. Thanks must also go to the mums for their expert analysis of the game.
