Hythe 3's vs Sway 3's
| Hythe 3's Throw Away Final Game |
Hythe 3's lost their final Indoor match of the season with a lethargic bowling display against 5 man Sway. The Green Caps gave away 58 in extras but despite this loss - Hythe finished runners up to New Milton.
Tom Huxley though had a good day with the bat scoring 62* in Hythe's 146 for 4.
Hythe won the toss and Jonjo elected to bat first. Hythe got off to a flyer with 21 coming from the first over. But disaster struck in the second as both Stovell and North were run out.
Huxley and Gilbert swung the game back in Hythe's favour with a stand of 64 in 6 overs. Huxley retired and Gilbert was run out for 23. Page went first ball leaving McCarthy and the returning Huxley to finish the innings. Huxley hit two mighty blows to finish on 62* his best indoor score. Sway helped the cause by giving away in 50 extras and Hythe ended on 146 for 4 - too much you'd have thought for five man Sway.
Sway went on the assault from the off and 21 came off Page's first over. By the 4th over Sway had moved onto 48 for 0. Both openers Straw and Lewis retired and as Hythe's bowling started spraying around everywhere - Sway reached the 100 in only the 8th over. Thistleton retired 26* and Sway were almost home before Hythe gained their first wicket - Hanniball run out without scoring.
Sway reached their target with 5 balls remaining to finish a miserable performance by Hythe 3's.
Jonjo would like to thank Woodsy for scoring and Rob Saunders for umpiring.
