![]() |
Hythe went into their second LCA IPL game knowing they needed a win to keep the chance of going to a Rosebowl finals day alive. But after a strong performance in the field Hythe showed their weaknesses with the bat.
Skipper Carley lost the toss but Fair Oak chose to bat first with many players struggling to make it in time. Hythe opened the bowling with Nicholas and he picked up the wicket of Trotter, clean bowled for 0. Bryers bowled the second over and only conceded 7 from it, in his second over he picked up the wicket of Organ, caught by Gilbert for 0.
Carley bowled jut the one over that went for 11 and Kelly picked up is second IPL wicket and only conceded 6 off that over. Fenton, who went wicketless, bowled 2 overs which included the final over which only went for 3 runs.- Fair Oak 63-4
Hythe Opened the batting with Gilbert & Nicholas and it was a slow start. With little running between the wick Hythe quickly fell behind the run rate only 16 had been scored at the half way point. Nicholas was caught out for 1 after facing 7 balls and the Carley was boled first ball. Kelly in at number 4 didn’t last long either stumped of his second ball – all 3 wickets fell to Foster in a single over.
Bryers joined Gilbert at the crease and Gilbert was unlucky to be run out with the bowler geting a touch back on the stumps. Bryers tried to keep the game alive he scored an unbeaten 23, Fenton again had to play the roll of backing him up but again ended up with 2 not out. With the 2 final batsman protecting their wickets they might give Hythe a chance in the final 2 games by not giving away bonus points.- Hythe 45-4
