Jones Lane Braces Itself For Biggest Attendance Of The Season (45 to beat)
*******
Thanks to everyone whose turing out on Boxing Day as a Sports Club Tradition returns to Jones Lane.
Its the first time since the ninties the game has taken place but a grat way to end the year.
A Cricketing side made up of players past, present, members and relatives will try and turn one over on the football club.
A minutes silence will take place prior to the game in memory of the four Hythe legends who sadly won't be with us this Christmas - Terry Doel - Tony Woodhouse - Herbie Parsons and Woody.
*******
SO WHO HAVE WE ASSEMBLED TOGETHER TO REPRESENT THE CRICKET.
| Tom Barge | After leaving Hythe FC after 10 games Bargeys a brave man for playing. Quality Player all 4ft of him.. |
| Phil Swainston | Young Harrys dad after his vets side deserted the club 2 years ago another that will be a marked man.Quality Player |
| Chalky White | Good old Chalky still plays for Stoneham Vets and had his time at Jones Lane with Hythe FC in the eighties |
| Kev White | Chalky Brother - Ex Hythe FC - If we could only go back 20 years we would have the best player on the park. |
| Richie Froggett | Has to play as the clubs chairman. As a Derby fan probably sees himself as a Robbie Savage. |
| Tom Huxley | Good old Hux. Hope ther'es not too many of his colts around to take the mick. |
| Martin Grant | Huxters Father in law. Good midfield player in his day. I am talking 30 years ago so don't expect too much |
| Dom O'Brien | Jonjo's Uncle and another ex Hythe. Quality player in his day. Hope he doesn't get injured as we want him for 3rd XI cricket next year |
| Luke Mills | Punchey should be one of the fittest players on the pitch. Brusing battle him and Waye Oakley expected. |
| Julian Chalmers | Another quality player in his day. Use to run up and down the pitch all day. Great way to get Kieran to play for us. |
| Kieran Chalmers | Star Man so I here - Southampton Schools say no more. |
| Steve Millar | Expect to see Zacs dad in his combat gear ready for battle. His last game probably back in his army days with Billy Ogle. |
| Zac Millar | Another fit lad to run rings round the oppo. Need to protect him though big cricket season ahead. |
| Tony North | Probably have the most to do as Keeper. Northy wouldn't have it any other way. Still playing Vets footbball |
| Luke Blackwell | Normally plays the 15 a side game so should be interesting. Will his shots be as wayward as his bowling |
