Saturday 3rd Sept
HYTHE WELL BEATEN @ BRAMSHAW
 |
| Zac MILLAR 49 |
Hythe were well beaten in their end of season fixture at Roundhills against a strong Bramshaw side which played 7 of the side which beat the First XI by 10 wickets earlier in the season.
Rob Saunders elected to bat first and Hythe struggled to post 154 for 8 from their 40 overs. (half the usual par score). Zac Millar hit 49 which included 7x4's & 1 six. Sam Mead 23 and Matt Young 23 were the only others to make any real contribution.
Tom Arnold and Eian Waffen then laid into the Hythe bowling. Arnold after hitting 3x6's and 5x4's and being smashed in the head and stomach with balls from his batting partner - retired on 52. At 90 Hythe did get some joy when Walsh bowled Waffen for 36.
The strike rate slowed down for a while and Hythe took another wicket when Carley caught Reeve off Stevens for 14. Chiverton thought he had T&E ringer Kingston first ball but the umpired decided the ball didn't carry to Sam Mead. Bramshaw got home in only the 21st over - winning by 8 Wickets.
