Hythe 2's remained top of South West 2 with a powerful 7 wkt win against Langley Manor 3rds at Hunts Farm.
Hythe won the toss and skipper Mike Bowman elected to field first. LM lost their first wicket in the 6th over when Simon Wright caught A.Tull for 11. Skipper Ken Morrison went soon after thanks to a Stovell catch off Wright. 4 runs later and LM were 38 for 3 - Prentice having Newman judged LBW for 3. Two more wickets fell before drinks another wicket a piece for Prentice and Wright. 62 for 5 at drinks.
3 overs later it was 72 for 6 when Sam Page run out McCreath for 4. Lee Powell then dismissed Hart for 27 after a 46 run partnership. Elsom and Morgan then added 38 before Elsom was caught off Powell for 20. At the close LM were 173 for 8. Hythe's most successful bowler - Simon Wright 3-20 off 10.
Hythe suffered an early loss when Tongs was bowled for 4. Mike Bowman and Simon Dixon then added 84 in 21 overs before Dixon fell for 24 off McCreath. Bowman fell soon after for a very good 52 - McCreath again the bowler.Hythe 93 for 3 off 24.
Dave Guymer 27* and James Page 52* then added an unbeaten 82 for the 4th wicket to win the game for Hythe with 4 overs remaining. Page's 52 included 8x4's & 1x6. Hythe pick up a valuable 23 points with two games to go.
