Hythe were forced into 7 changes from the previous week against top of the table Parley. The visitors won the toss and elected to put Hythe into bat. The lads were asked to dig in and see out the 42 overs which they did. 112 all out thanks largely to a gritty 32 from Josh Mead. Sam Page 11 & Ali Bryers 11* were the only other batsman to reach double figures on a difficult wicket.
Hythe got an early wicket through the Kev McCarthy whilst Josh Mead at the other end bowled superbly 1-13 off 5. Chiv mixed up the bowling trying to dig out a second wicket. Three chances went down and it took the visitors until the 27th over to reach their target which was great credit to Hythe. But a 9 wicket defeat and Hythe still need 1 win to be sure of safety.
In a difficult month for the club - One bonus for Hythe - the great sight of seeing Pete Stevens back out on a cricket pitch batting and bowling.
