First T20 Win For Hythe @ Holbury
 |
| Tom RICHARDS 54 |
Hythe pulled off a surprise Twenty20 win at Holbury last week - Their first ever Twenty20 win over Fawley on their own turf.
Hythe won the toss elected to bat first on a overcast evening. The Green Caps had lost both Mike Bowman 5 and Jonjo Stovell 5 with only 36 on the board after 8 but Tom Richards and Harry Smith then added 60 for the 3rd wicket. Richards fell for 54 and a late ralley by Smith 30* and Jon Roberts 22* took Hythe to 154 for 3 at the close.
In the field Hythe got a qucik bonus when Leach was run out without scoring. Josh Mead had Steve Cox caught for 5 and Harry Smith bowled Godden - Fawley 46 for 3 off 9. At the other end the dangerous Tom Gates continued to dominate. Gates fifty came up with a towering six off Smith but with the score on 83 Saunders turned to Super Kev (McCarthy). First ball Gates skies to Roberts for the catch. - 84 for 4 off 13.1 overs.
S.Rice 31 and S.Rogers then added a quick fire 36 before both fell in their thirties. At the close Fawley had reached 148 for 7 - Hythe win 6 runs.
Admittedly it wasn't Fawleys first side but a big boost for our club to get a win over our rivals.
