BRAMSHAW vs HYTHE UNDER 13's
22nd June @ Thornberry Avenue
Under 13's Win Through To Forest Cup Final.
 |
| Ali BRYERS 27* |
Woodsy said it perfectly - Its like waiting for a bus. 1991 was the last time a Hythe Colt side reached a final and now Hythe Under 13's will join the Under 11's on Finals Day after a 8 wkt win over Bramshaw
Ali Bryers again won the toss and elected to bowl first. Bryers and Sam Fenton opened the bowling and after only 2 overs Fenton had Cooper surperbly caught by Ollie Pike for 1. Sam Kelly then run out H.Cross and the homeside were in trouble. 16 for 2 off 5. R.Stewart 12 and B.Chandler 9 created a small comeback bit from the 8th it was all downhill as the Hythe bowlers took charge. 2 wickets a piece for Sam Kelly and Jake Larkin got the Green Caps well on top.42 for 6 off 1.
Larkin then claimed a third wicket to finish his spell 3-20. Ollie Pike come on to bowl his 'pies' and claimed the wickets of Charman (stumped by Gilbert) and Forgan. Then when Bryers returned to have Mason cauight behind by Gilbert - Bramshaw were all out for 60 aided by 16 Hythe wides. A fine peformance from Hythe in the field - Now it was upto Hux to calm the lads down before batting.
Steady batting was the call - but Archie didn't hear and fourth ball was taking the long walk up the hill back to the changing room. With Loveless looking a decent bowler it was worrying times but skipper Ali Bryers and Freddie Molyneux started to get on top of the bowling and at 4 overs Hythe were 20 for 1. The pair then added 57 in 11 overs before Moyneux was caught off Forgan by Cross for 17. Jacob Mould hit the winning boundary and Hythe had won by 8 wkts. Ali Bryers finishing on 27*.
Well done to the lads, Huxter and Mrs.G a great achievement for the club.

Catch of the Day : Has to be Ollie Pike's
Quote of the Day : Bramshaw's Chandler wasn't too keen when Hythe batted on after winning the game. He said ' Mums not going to be happy my teas on the table'. At the end of the game - whilst shaking hands - Matt Bennett said to him ' Hope your teas still ok'
