TERRY DOEL PASSES AWAY

Terry Doel

It is with deep sadness and regret that I have to notify everyone of the passing away of vice president Terry Doel aged 77.

Our condolunces go out to wife Brenda and sons Martin and Steve who both played for Hythe in the late seventies / early eighties.

Up until last season -Terry was often seen at the top of the park with wife Brenda, Tony & Mary Woodhouse supporting the cricket.

Terry was more involved with the football at Hythe during the 70's & 80's but he was also very keen on cricket and turned out for Alan Wiltshire and Tony Woodhouse whenever needed and the Doel's became the first family three to play cricket for Hythe.

Terry very much became Tony's right hand man down the club and he spent endless hours of his time doing maintenance work whilst wife Benda made the teas.

Terry later became a Life Member - Vice President and for a number of years supported Tony Woodhouse as Vice Chairman. Only last year Terry donated a trophy to the cricket section for the ' Colt of The Year' - a trophy which will now be used to remember his fine services to our club.

Over 75 people turned up to the Remberence Service of Terry at St.Johns, Hythe yesterday.

Eldest son Martin read a moving speach about his dads life and one thing was very clear - the strong affection Terry always had for our Cricket Club.

A True Clubman
