On a fine evening, Hythe & Dibden won the toss and decided to bat. Zac Millar and Nick Shrive opened the innings and put on 14 for the 1st wicket. Bettle and Hameed the Bashley opening bowlers were impressive and in particular Hameed who bowled Shrive for 3 and then proceeded to rip apart the Green Caps early batting line up. He claimed 4 more victims at a cost of ten runs. At 8 over’s H & D were 30 for 5. Zac Millar played a very good innings but was eventually caught off Read for 23. James Bidwell (15) and Alex Nicholas (13 not out) did provide some resistance but the team was eventually all out for a disappointing 80.
Bashley opening pair Morris & Moors took control with an opening partnership of 41. Morris was then dismissed by Young for 16, but this was the only bowling success. Bashley knocked off the remaining runs inside 9 over’s. K Moors made a very good 38 not out. H & D missed their mainstream bowling attack this week.
We need a better performance at Damerham in 2 weeks time lads; after 3 losses the Managers job may be on the line!!
