UNDER 15'S TAKE BASHLEY CLOSE

Zac MILLAR 42*

Hythe Under 15's came within 5 runs of beating the mighty Bashley last Sunday as Zac Millar 42* lead Hythe to 117 for 7 chasing 123 for victory.

Kieran Chalmers won the toss and elected to field first. Bashley got off to the worst of start when Jordan Blandford had Scott caught behind for 9 and O.Dowding had to retire hurt of 9. At 5 overs Bashley had moved onto 32 for 1 with Drake and Glew looking in good touch. 53 for 1 at 10.

Hythe did eventually get the wicket of Drake when he was bowled by Bryers for 35. Glew 22* and Read 15* then took the home side to 122 for 2 at the close. Froggie will be disappointed with the 26 wides given away. Hythe's most economical bowler - Elliott Carley's 4 overs going for just 15 runs.

Hythe lost Bidwell for 0 with the score on 9 and soon after Chalmers went for 4. Hythe 19 for 2 off 5. Millar looked in good touch but Knight-Owen was bowled by Drake for 5. Blandford and Zac M,illar added 45 for the 4th wicket before Blandford was run out for 13. The Green Caps were 93 for 4 off 15 overs but Millar had to retire on 42*,

Hythe then lost Allan for 2 and Nicholas for 8. Archie Gilbert batted well for 17 before being run out and Hythe ended 117 for 7 five runs short.

Shame about those wides but well done to Bashley for giving 7 lads a bowl.
