NEW MILTON 'B' vs HYTHE UNDER 15's
1st May @ Fernhills
UNDER 15'S WIN IN DOUBLE QUICK TIME
Richard Jones 41*
Hythe Under 15's picked up the first Colts win of the new season with a comfortable win over a young New Milton 'B' side.
Despite Coach Froggett's pre match concerns about having a few of his star lads unavailable the youngsters come in and did the side proud.
Hythe batted first scoring a very decent 121 for 4 off their 18 overs. Richard Jones starred with the bat - retiring on 41 not out - (which moves him into the top 10 of leading colts this century). Sam Long 18* and Kieran Chalmers 13 also made decent contributions.
Hythe opened the bowling with their two pacemen Chalmers and Nicholas - both getting one wicket each and once New Milton were well behin the run rate skipper Chalmers rotated the bowling to give everyone a game. Archie Gilbert picked up two wickets and there were wickets a piece for Billy Allan and Harrison Smith.
Jordan Blandford took two good catches and there were also catches for Sam Long. Richard Jones and James Bidwell.
New Milton 'B' 91 for 6 at the close and the Green Caps winning by 30 runs.
Old rivals Sway next week - Marshall vs Froggett - two wiley old coaches - both masters of talking a good game - pin their wits against each other.
