Hythe 2's vs Milford on Sea
2's Season Ends in Defeat
Wayne Effeny 35* & 2-34
Hythe 2's Indoor season ended with defeat against Milford on Sea on Sunday but the result still means they finish runners up in Division 2.
Hythe wore black arm bands in memory of Tony Woodhouse - but even Tony wouldn't have enjoyed the 10 wides Hythe dished up fielding first. Wayne Effeny and Matt Young took two wickets each as Milford scored 132 for 5 off their 12 overs. Russell Moore took a good catch to dismiss Brown for 7 and Belly continued his run of fine fielding to run out Ferrar for 23. Hythe's most economical figures - Russell Moore 0-28 off 3.
Wayne Effeny showed the way with the bat scoring 35 not out. But only Sean Tongs 16 ( batting down at 5 ) gave him any support - Hythe 118 for 5 at the close. Effeny scoring 3 fours and Tongs 1.
Hythe losers by 14 runs and finishing the season 4 wins and 4 defeats. Belly would like to thank Jonjo for scoring and Woodsy for scoring.
