Hythe 1's vs Bashley Rydal
Another Final Over Defeat For Hythe 1's
Rob James 26* & 3-36
Hythe 1's completed their Indoor season with a last over defeat at the hands of Bashley on Sunday. Hythe batted well making 130 for 1 off their 12 overs but Bashley got home with 1 ball and 2 wkts remaining.
Hythe batted first after losing the toss and with skipper Matt Howe dropping down the order - Prmotoed Zac Millar 25* and Rob James 26* both retired not out. Tom Richards then set upon the attack as Hythe amassed 127 before they lost their first wicket - Harry Smith run out for 15. The impressive Richards ended on 27 not out as the Green Caps ended on 130 for 1.
Hythe got off to a decent start when Gary Howe stumped Bashley legend Neil Taylor for 2 off Rob James and when G.Bettle was bowled for 17 by James - Bashley were 63 for 2. Freedman retired then J.Bettle was caught by James off Tom Richards for 0 - 60 for 3.
Morris and Read added 44 to take the score to 106 before Morris became James third wicket - caught by Matt Howe 7. Hythe looked in control at this point but Morris 44* and Read 16* saw Bashley home with one ball to spare.
Hythe's 1-7 doesn't read well but with four games going to the final over the season could have well been different.
Matt would like to thank Jonjo for Umpiring and Becky for scoring.
