Hythe 3's vs Sway 3's
North Seals Win To Lift Hythe Off The Bottom

Jonjo promised his side wouldn't finish bottom of Division 3 and last nights win over Sway 3's certainly boosted their chances. Stovell scored 33 and Tony North carried his bat 34* as Hythe chased down 105 to win with one wicket in hand.
Sway won the toss and elected to bat against bottom of the table Hythe. The Forest side started well before Sam Mead run out Dave Hurrell for 6 - Sway 34 for 1 off 3. At the half way stage Sway had moved onto 66 for 1 with P.Bennett having to retire on 25 not out. The impressive Kev McCarthy then bowled Stone for 14 - 79 for 2. Tom Huxley then run out M.Brearley for 9 - 88 for 3 with 3 overs remaining.
C.Smith 15* and J.Howard 2* took the score to 104 for 3 at the close - an impressive bowling and fielding display by the Green Caps - Kev McCarthy 1-19 off 3 with 7 dot balls the pick of the Hythe bowling.
Hythe got off to the worst of starts when Sam Mead was out the first ball faced for 0 bowled by Howard - Hythe 3-1. Skipper Stovell joined North and the pair began to take control of the innings - 43 for 1 after just 3 overs. Stovell retired not out and soon after Hythe were 56 for 2 when Tom Huxley was run out for 2. Josh Mead soon followed for 0 and Hythe were wobbling at 66 for 3 off 6.
Three runs later and 'Piechucker' Hurrell got McCarthy caught for 0 - Hythe 69 for 4. Stovell re-joined North to add 30 for the 5th wicket but with 6 required Stovell was out caught by an excellent jumping catch close to the back wall for a very good 33. North kept his head though scoring 34* and reaching the target with 8 balls remaining.
A good win and the 3rds move back into mid table. Jonjo would like to thank Matt Young for umpiring and Ewan for scoring.
