NEW FOREST INDOOR LEAGUE
Division 3
16th January 2011
Hythe 3's vs New Milton 3's
Sam MEAD 28*
MEADS EFFORTS NOT ENOUGH AS 3'S LOSE
The New Forest's proposal to find more youth sides to play in next seasons Indoor League proved a good one as Hythe 3's and New Milton 2's showed on Sunday. Both sides fielded five colts in their line ups.
New Milton won the toss and batted first scoring a creditable 133 for 4. 14 year old Sam Long proved Hythe's best bowler - 1-24 of 3 whilst Sam Mead produced three run outs. Hythe skipper Jonjo Stovell still smarting from his 18th birthday celebrations a few hours earlier - had a mare behind the stumps which later got worse when he was out first ball. But we'll let him off as its his birthday.
Hythe in reply reached 22 in 2 overs before Richard Jones was run out for 0. Next ball Clark caught Stovell off Watts - Hythe 22 -2. Sam Mead and Long added 40 before Mead retired 28*. Long and Josh Mead took the score to 86 off 9 before Long was bowled for 21. Mead and Super Kev added another 36 off 3 but New Milton claimed the win by 11 runs. Josh Mead 14* - Kev McCarthy 4* .
The fast improving New Milton deserved their win George Watts 1-20 off 3 the pick of the bowlers whist Mick Clark 28* and Todd Clark 29 topped the batting
