Hythe 2's vs Sway 1's
Keano's Missed A Trick As Sway Too Strong For Hythe
Matt YOUNG 1-18 off 3 overs
Hythe 2's were on the receiving end of a thumping as they kicked off the New Forest Indoor League Season against a very strong Sway 1's side. You can't help feeling that Indoor Fixture 'Guru' and Sway legend Steve Keen has missed a trick by not putting this talented side in Division 1 and demonstrate to the rest of the forest what fine players they have at Sway.
Hythe 2's skipper won the toss and elected to field first on the new bouncy track.
The experienced Hall and How added 37 for the 1st wicket to give Sway a solid start. Hythe kept battling away with Matt Young the pick of the Hythe bowlers 1-18 off his 3 overs. Russell Moore also took a wicket and with 3 run outs Hythe reduced Sway to 113 for 5 off their 12 overs. Alex Hall top scored for Sway with 21.
Hythe with the bat had no answer to some top bowling. John Grasham removed Tongs 2, Bowman 0 and Moore for 1. Luke Blackwell top scored with 9 as Hythe were all out for 39. Grasham finished with 3-7 off 3 and if Sway can keep this side together then no one's going to stop them.
Bellie said ' As you can see we couldn't handle the quality of their bowling. Great line and length on a bouncy new carpet strip. Thanks go to Woody for scoring and Harry Smith for umpiring (the latter at short notice).
