Hythe and Dibden invited Cadnam seconds to Jones lane an over cast Sunday afternoon.

Quinnell won the toss and elected to bowl against Cadnam 2^nd XI. Tim Bath and Jonjo Stovell opened the bowling with the new ball. Studvell picked up the first wicket with an excellent caught and bowled to have Matt Hardy out for 8. Tim Bath produced an excellent spell of swing bowling that went unrewarded from up the hill.

Next into the attack was Paul Quinnell and the first ball was wide, very wide. To his credit though the bowling got better but him along with Richard last and Tom Huxley went unrewarded on what was starting to look like a very flat track.

It was not until the spinners; Richards, Woods and De Jager came on to bowl did more wickets fall. Richards first had Evans caught by Tim bath and then bowled Whitehorn. Woods then picked up the wicket of Brown with De Jager behind the stumps juggling the catch. Richards picked up his third wicket with a catch taken by Woods to dismiss Taylor. De Jager then took the wicket keeping pads of to bowl spin and in the process picked up the wickets of Elliot who got 53 with a fantastic catch at gully by Tom Richards and had Zhou who was stumped by Tongs who was now behind the stumps.

The final few overs were taken by both Zac Millar and Matt Young, both of whom had good first overs. De Jager picked up the final wicket, although when he saw where the ball was going he most have thought it would go down, another juggling catch by Quinnell in the deep.

Cadnam set 212 to win.

Hythe started the batting with Tongs and Millar, who put on a partnership of 55 before Millar was caught by taylor off the bowling of Whetren. The wickets then began to tumble as the next 5 fell for just 42 runs. Tongs was bowled by Hardy for 42 then Hardy proceeded to take skipper Quinnell's wicket for just 6 with a catch taken by Dibben. Next to go was Young for 5 with a catch taken by Evans off Elliott.

Stovell quickly follow when Hardy got his third wicket of the day. Huxley was then caught by Taylor off the bowling of Elliot and Hythe were struggling at 98-6. The Fonz and Richards put on 26 more runs before Richards was caught and bowled by Zhou for 9. Tim bath followed 16 runs later again to Zhou with a catch taken by Elliott.

Woods arrived at the crease with Richard Last. Woods defended his wicket as Last went after the runs before Last was out for 31 Bowled by Evans. This brought De Jager to the middle off of three back to back hundreds. Woods continued to defend his wicket as the light began to decrease as De Jager continued the roll as the runs hitter, with 3 6s and 3 4s he brought Hythe right back into the game. De Jager was eventually caught in the deep for 29 by Shipp of the bowling of Atkins to leave Hythe 20 runs short.
