A sunny Sunday morning took Hythe Under 11's to Beaulieu for their annual friendly fixture. In a 10 a side match - Hythe pulled off an impressive win by 16 runs in a game which was a credit for both clubs .
Hythe batted first with Jacob Mould top scoring with 14. Jacobs opening partnership of 31 with Tom Ladbury (3) proved a great platform for the rest of the side. Hythe finished on 258 for 6 with Beaulieu 242 for 10.
Hythe's won the toss and elected to bat first. Hythe's first pairing of Tom Ladbury (3) and Jacob Mould (14) adding 31 for the first pairing without losing a wicket.
Pair 2 of Jack Ashton-Hurst (5) and Neal Reid (4) carried on the good work adding 15 - Hythe 246 for 0 after 8. Hythe's third pairing of Tom Knight-Owen (1) and Pieter Lever (-5) found the going more difficult as they lost 3 wickets during their 4 over stay.
Hythe 4th pairing of Lewie Faye (4) and Harry Swainston (2) despite losing one wicket added 6 more to the score but Beaulieu fought back as Hythe's youngest pairing of Sam Fenton (3) and William Ladbury (-8) lost 2 wickets to leave the green caps on 258 for 6 at the close.
Hythe's fielding and bowling gave the Beaulieu batsman a hard time in reply. Tom Ladbury took 3-6 off 3 overs whilst Sam Fenton bowled 2-6 off 3. There were also wickets for Jacob Mould, Tom Knight-Owen and Harry Swainston as Hythe reduced Beaulieu to 242 for 10 and a 16 run win.
