BASHLEY RYDAL 'A' vs HYTHE UNDER 13'S

27th May @ Bashley Park

Hythe Under 13’s Unbeaten Run Goes @ Bashley

Alex NICHOLAS 2-9

The rain subsided early enough to allow the game to go ahead at Bashley and unfortunately the only 100% record we have maintained is winning the toss.

Hythe elected to bat and got off to a slow start due to some fine bowling from the Bashley opening bowlers. Harris going for 1 for 8 off his 4 overs and Glen 2 for 4 off his 4. After 8 overs Hythe were on 13 for 3 and looking for any run, wide, no ball to add to the score. Sam Long top scored with 15 and Harrison Smith was the only other batsman to hit double figures scoring 10 whilst hitting the only boundary in the innings. We finished on 58 all out off 16 overs.

Bashley had a small total to chase but the outfield was slow so we had a small chance of keeping in the game. Bashley openers put on 22 for the 1st wicket with Ali Bryers clean bowling Edmunds for 4. Alex Nicholas clean bowled the No. 3 for 2 runs and had the opener caught for 24 in the 10th over with Bashley on 42 runs. The No 5 + 6 finished the game off with a 4 at the end of the 13th over.

All good things come to an end but I am pleased to say that although the batting was a little below par, the bowling and fielding was to a good standard. Quick fielding and throw backs to the keeper kept us in the game longer than expected.
