BLOW AS YOUNG HARRY MISSES START TO SEASON

A big blow to Hythe's pre-season is that promising youngster Harry Smith broke his collerbone skateboarding this week and is expected to miss at least the first month of the league season.

Harry - who was expected to be a regular figure in the Hythe 2nd XI this season goes into hospital for an operation tomorrow after three breaks in his clavicle caused after a heavy landing! Dad Pete says 'they'll take him in over the weekend for an operation and possible a plate inserted. Harry's in good spirit though and is more concerned about his cricket than his exams'.

Despite being only 16 year old Harry has already played over 60 senior games for the club taking 53 wickets in the process including 6-25, but over the last summer Head Coach Richie Froggett has been just as impressed with his batting as with his bowling.

Everyone wishes you well H and a speedy recovery
