Hythe 3's vs Sway 3's

Sways Efforts In The Field Make The Difference

Tom RICHARDS 27 & 2-36

Some excellent committment in the field by Sway 3's stopped the boundaries and resulted in Jonjo Stovell's men losing their 3rd consecutive indoor game. But the positive signs are there for the newly formed side who are getting better with each game. Sway batted first scoring 140 for 4 off their 12 overs with Hythe falling 12 runs short. It was a specially good game for Tom Richards who scored 27 and took 2 wickets. Hythe's evening started badly with Sam Mead dropping out through illness meaning an Indoor debut for newly accredited coach Tom Huxley.

Hythe fielded first and got off to a perfect start when Tony North stumped I.Stone for 0 off the bowling of skipper Jonjo Stovell. Sway then took comtrol of the innings through Brearley 25 and Stevenson 27 ret not out who racked up 12 an over. Nailor (10), Hurrell (16) and Drayton (24*) then carried on the good work for Sway as Hythe struggled to fill the gaps in the field. Hythe's best bowler - Tom Richards who took 2-36 off his 3 overs. Sway ending on 140-4.

Hythe got off to a good start thanks to a good wide count from the Sway opening bowlers. Richards particularly looked in a positive frame of mind. Stovell thenl left one down the leg too many and was bowled behind his legs for 7. Richards (ret not out 27) and Matt Young (22) kept Hythe in with an outside chance but good accurate bowling from M.Brearley 1-25 off 3 dropped Hythe further behind the rate. Ian Stone's 2 overs went for just 13 and by the time Tony North (15) came to the crease it was too late and though Kev McCarthy (14) addd some strong hitting at the end Hythe fell 12 runs short.
