Hythe 3's vs Swan Green

Hythe 3's Tough Indoor Baptism

Jonjo Stovell's Hythe's 3's came a cropper in their first ever Indoor match on Sunday as they were well beaten by Swan Green. 'It was different but I really enjoyed is' said the skipper. Northy said it was an experience, Punchey said this ain't cricket.

Hythe won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Tom Richards opened with Luke Mills who's first over went for 16. Richards didn't fair much better 15 coming off his first over. Hythe 3rds found it hard to cope with the change of ball from a cricket ball to what ever it is indoor, with Richards finding it the hardest with his second over going for 30 runs. Amazingly though his next over only went for 2 runs, as Swan Green were 86 th the half way stage (6 overs). Skipper Jonjo Stovell brought himself onto bowl and got the first wicket with his first ever ball indoors - G.McClearen for 24.

Steve Miller came onto bowl and immeadiatley got the second wicket - bowling R.Collingwood for 22. Thankfully the runs started to dry up thanks to some tidy bowling and athletic keeping from Northy. The next to wickets the came from Tom Richards and Luke Mills both with a run out each. This brought D.Tasker back in even though Hythe started to show a improvement in their fielding, Tasker had no problem finding quick runs. Swan Green ending on 150 off their 12 over's with Steve Pope watching from the side.

Hythe opened with Mills and Richards and not long in to the Hythe innings they found out how dificult it can be to judge a run in doors with Mills being run out for 3 - soon followed by Miller for 0. Tony North looked in good touch hitting a 4 early on in his innings but was then stumped off the bowling of Tasker. Sam Mead could not follow up his very good fielding performance with the bat as he got out cheaply for 3. Stovell and Richards finished off with quick 24 run partnership but then Stovell was given out L.B.W for 8 and that was it Hythe all out for a disdappointing 48.

how different Indoor Cricket can be. I really enjoyed it though.

A big thanks to Woody and Sean for giving up their own time to score & umpire. We will get better
