HYTHE XI v TOTTON & ELING
Tuesday August 25th
Trophy Back With The Eeels
Totton & Eling won the annual Matt Miller Mermorial Trophy in front of a good turn out at Jones Lane.
The Totton Eeels batted first knocking up 117 for 4 off their 18 overs. A.Knight 22 and Simon Preston 24 both retired whilst ex Hythe Legend Terry Rawlins finished on 17 not out smashing Bargey to the boundary just like the Hythe's Southern League days. For Hythe Harry Smith was the pick of the bowlers 1-17 off 4.
Hythe in reply lost Army Rob first ball and in the same over Luke 'Nicky Clark' Mills 2. Pagey 5 and Andrew Woods 7 soon followed leaving the green caps in trouble. Sean Tongs 27 and Kev James 14 added some competiveness to the game but Totton & Eling were always in control as Hythe were dismissed for 90 with both K.Edwards and L.Mooney taking 2-6.
