Toss Crucial As Seconds Tamed By Nine Man BAe

Gary HOWE
Top Scored 27

B A E, playing with only nine men, won a very important toss and elected to bowl on a pitch that was still damp. All of the Hythe batsmen struggled against some accurate bowling which utilised the steep bounce to good effect and had the catching been better Hythe could have been dismissed for less than the 143 runs achieved from 39 overs.

In reply the B A E top three batsmen all played some good shots and batted well. The bowling, whilst mostly accurate proved to be less effective as the now dry pitch still produced lateral movement but more predictable bounce.

The only wicket to fall came courtesy of a run out by Ian Prentice. B A E finally reaching 147 for 1 in the 33rd over to win by nine wickets.
